Introduction
An educational excursion to Lal Qila (Red Fort) was organized on [27/02/2025] for the students of Class 4 and 5 of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Sadar Bazar Delhi Cantt. The objective of the trip was to provide students with a first-hand experience of India’s rich history and architectural heritage.
Journey and Arrival
The students, along with their escorting teachers, departed from the school in the morning. The transportation arrangements were well-managed by Surendra Sir and Bhupendra Sir. Safety precautions were strictly followed, and the students traveled in an organized manner.
Exploring the Red Fort
Upon reaching Lal Qila, the students were fascinated by its massive red sandstone walls and grand Mughal architecture. They were taken on a guided tour of key areas such as:
Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience)
Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience)
Rang Mahal (Palace of Colors)
Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque)
The escorting teachers explained the historical significance of the fort, highlighting that it was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and served as the residence of the Mughal rulers. The students were especially intrigued to learn that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru delivered his first Independence Day speech from the fort in 1947.
Interactive Learning and Activities
The students actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and took notes. Some of them even shared their knowledge about the fort. They were encouraged to observe the intricate Mughal architecture and carvings and understand their historical and cultural importance.
Conclusion
The excursion was a great success, enriching the students with valuable knowledge about India's historical and cultural heritage. The trip was well-organized and executed smoothly under the leadership of Headmistress Madhu Ritu Madam, with the support of all escorting teachers and arrangement incharges.
